The mission of BYU DancEnsemble is mentoring and producing student contemporary choreography. This season, DancEnsemble turns its focus outward, into the natural world, and asks, “How do God’s creations inform and inspire contemporary choreography?” Emerging student choreographers will consider this question as they visit BYU’s Lytle Preserve, learn from BYU faculty in Plant and Wildlife Sciences and study latter-day teachings on stewardship. Observation, writing, and embodied exploration all contribute to original student works, performed along with new works by faculty and guest artists, by a company of 25+ dancers. Contemporary Dance alumni will also perform together as part of our annual Contemporary Dance reunion.
Join us Thursday night for a Q&A with the student choreographers.
