Recital: Randall Smith - Composition

This will be a complete performance of my masters composition, a polystylistic chamber opera about the life and death of Maximilien Robespierre, entitled "9 Thermidor." The part of Robespierre is represented by an electric guitar soloist while other characters, ideas, and sociopolitical forces are represented by solo soprano and baritone (both of whom will be offstage), a rapping emcee, an ensemble of instruments including violin, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, keyboards, bass guitar, and drums.
