Spring Opera - Crossings

Saturday, June 07
7:00 PM
Concert Hall, Music Building

Crossings is a dynamic international opera scenes project that unites students and faculty from Brigham Young University (Provo, USA) and the University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia) in a vibrant artistic collaboration. More than a student exchange, Crossings is the product of deep, collegial partnership between faculty members from both institutions—working together across continents to design, direct, coach, and musically prepare a wide-ranging program of operatic scenes.

Generously hosted by BYU, the project offers a rare and meaningful opportunity for young artists and their mentors to explore the operatic repertoire through shared perspectives, diverse traditions, and a spirit of mutual learning. Featuring scenes that cross cultural, emotional, and political boundaries, Crossings celebrates the power of opera to transcend language and geography—uniting voices, visions, and institutions in a shared commitment to storytelling through music.
