In 1776, Silas Deane was sent by the American continental congress to negotiate with France for supplies for the patriot army. His efforts in France saved the American Revolution. Yet, his political enemies made sure his name was disgraced and forgotten. Now it is 1842, 53 years after Silas's death, and his granddaughter is trying to clear his name.
